Now hiring: Administrative Assistant, Operations (Part-Time)

The Albany County Land Bank is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented part-time Administrative Assistant, Operations, to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to ensure our office operations run smoothly and efficiently. They will be responsible for interacting with the public (e.g. in-person, by phone, via email), data entry, and performing routine clerical, secretarial and administrative tasks. All roles at the Land Bank require active community engagement.

Administrative Assistant, Operations

Real property operations

  • Manage incoming visitors, phone calls, and emails in a professional manner

  • Maintain electronic and physical documents and filing systems

Purchase applications and disposition

  • Enter and maintain data in the Land Bank’s information systems

  • Assist with processing property purchase applications and related documentation

Enforcement and compliance

  • Maintain and store compliance-related documentation per office procedures

  • Provide administrative support for compliance tracking and reporting

Administrative support

  • Coordinate meetings, schedules, and manage multiple calendars

  • Take meeting minutes, prepare agendas, and proofread documents

  • Handle office supply requisitions and basic bookkeeping tasks

  • Provide general clerical and backup support as needed

Community outreach

  • Serve as a public-facing point of contact, providing excellent customer service

  • Assist with coordinating occasional workshops or outreach events

Desired Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred

  • 1+ years of administrative or office experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional demeanor and customer service orientation

Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions

  • Part-time, non-exempt position (20 hours per week)

  • Work schedule: Monday–Friday, day shift, typically 4-hour shifts

  • Primary work location is in an office environment

Pay Transparency

  • $20.00 per hour

  • Benefits include paid time off and paid holidays
